Vehicle Branding in Dubai: Wraps, Fleet Graphics and Permit Basics

Your company vans, cars and buses drive past thousands of people every day. Vehicle branding turns that time on the road into advertising that works all year. This guide explains the main options, what each one suits and the permit basics in Dubai, so you can plan your fleet graphics with confidence.

Vehicle branding options

  • Full vehicle wraps: the whole body covered in printed vinyl. The biggest impact, and it protects the paint underneath.
  • Partial wraps: the sides and back only. A good balance of impact and budget for vans and pickups.
  • Vehicle lettering: your logo, name, phone number and website in cut vinyl. Simple, clean and cost effective.
  • Magnetic vehicle signs: remove them after work. Useful when a personal car is also used for business.
  • One way vision graphics: printed rear window film. The driver can still see out. Never use it on the windscreen.
  • Reflective vehicle signage: for safety markings and night visibility on trucks and service vehicles.

Which option suits your business?

  • Delivery and service vans: van wraps with large logo, services and contact number on both sides.
  • Company fleets: corporate fleet graphics that look the same on every vehicle.
  • Food trucks: food truck branding with your menu, colours and social media.
  • Buses and staff transport: bus graphics for schools, tour operators and companies.
  • Cars and sales teams: car branding with door logos or a partial wrap.

Permit basics in Dubai

Advertising on vehicles in Dubai needs approval before the graphics go on. Since April 2025, Mada Media runs a single platform for outdoor advertising permits, including advertising on commercial vehicles, under an agreement with the RTA and Dubai Municipality. Check the current requirements there before you order.

  • Applications usually need your trade licence and the design for all four sides of the vehicle.
  • Graphics must not go on the windscreen.
  • A big change to the vehicle colour may also need approval from the traffic authorities, so ask before you choose a colour change wrap.
  • Stickers and writing on vehicles without permission can lead to a fine of AED 500 under UAE traffic rules.

An artwork proof is not a permit. Plan the approval alongside your design so your vehicles are ready to drive as soon as they are branded.

Design tips that work on the road

  • Keep it short: logo, what you do and one phone number or website.
  • Use big letters. People see your vehicle for a few seconds, often from far away.
  • Add Arabic and English if you serve both audiences.
  • Avoid doors, handles and panel gaps for important text.
  • Use the same design on your shop signs, business cards and stickers so customers recognise you everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit to brand my company vehicle in Dubai?

Yes. Advertising on vehicles needs approval. Check the current Mada Media vehicle advertising permit requirements before the graphics are installed.

Can I put my company logo on my personal car?

Writing and stickers on any vehicle need permission. Magnetic signs are a popular option because you can remove them, but you should still check the rules first.

Can graphics go on the windows?

Never on the windscreen. One way vision film is used on rear and side windows where the rules allow it.

Do your prices include permits and installation?

Prices on our product pages exclude permits, approvals and installation services.
