Room and office door signs in Dubai
Room and office door signs, name plates and washroom signs that help people find the right room. Acrylic, metal and engraved options made in Dubai.

Room and door signs planned as a system
Visitors should be able to match a room number or name with the building directory without stopping to ask for directions. For an office, clinic, school, hotel or mixed-use facility, start with one approved list of rooms rather than ordering each plaque separately. The list should identify the sign text, location, quantity and any exceptions such as restricted areas or changeable staff names. Coordinate the same names and numbers with nearby directory boards and wayfinding signs.
Permanent room numbers and names
Fixed plaques suit spaces whose identity is unlikely to change: meeting-room numbers, washrooms, departments and utility rooms, for example. Decide whether each sign needs a number, name, pictogram or combination. Check the viewing distance, door swing, lighting and contrast before selecting its size and placement. A small sign that looks neat in a proof may be hard to find at the end of a corridor.
Changeable office and occupant nameplates
If names or teams change often, ask about an insert-style or modular nameplate so the information can be replaced without remaking the whole sign. Tell us who will update inserts and how frequently. That affects the format and whether the finished system is practical for your facilities team.
Materials, finish and fixing
Acrylic, engraved and metal-finish signs create different looks and have different fabrication and maintenance considerations. The right choice depends on the design, dimensions, quantity and cleaning environment. Share photos of a typical door and wall, including the surface around the proposed fixing point. Glass, finished timber, plasterboard and textured walls cannot be assumed to use the same mounting method; building or landlord restrictions should be known before the detail is approved.
Arabic, English and accessibility specifications
For bilingual room signs, supply the approved Arabic and English wording, numbering and reading order in a room schedule. Check spelling and the final artwork with the person responsible for translations and brand standards before production. The space needed for two languages can change the sign dimensions or type size, so do not rely on an English-only mock-up.
If a project calls for tactile text, Braille or another accessibility feature, provide the applicable consultant or client specification. Ordinary printed door labels should not be presented as certified accessibility signs. The sign construction, position and details need to be reviewed against the actual requirement. See accessibility and Braille signs for that specialist scope.
From room schedule to fitted signs
1. Share the room list and site conditions
Send the room numbers and names, quantities, floor or door locations, language requirements and a typical door or wall photograph. Include your logo or interior brand guide if signs must match an existing system. Identify whether the building is occupied, under fit-out or opening on a fixed date. Mark approximate dimensions as estimates until the fixing locations are checked.
2. Agree a consistent sign design
Review a representative layout before applying it across the whole schedule. Check the number hierarchy, text size, pictograms, bilingual layout, finish, edge detail and whether any names must be replaceable. If several sign types are needed, agree how they relate to one another so a corridor, room door and directory do not appear to use different numbering systems.
3. Approve the proof and itemised scope
Before fabrication, check every room name and number against the approved schedule, including Arabic text where used. Check materials, dimensions, quantities and any artwork preparation or sample requirement. Ask the quotation to state what is included for delivery, removal of old signs, access equipment, fitting and making-good. A visual proof does not establish that the actual wall or door is ready for installation.
4. Coordinate access, fitting and future updates
Check installation hours, building access, drilling restrictions and the person who can approve final positions on site. For changeable signs, agree how replacement inserts will be supplied or prepared later. At handover, compare the installed signs with the approved schedule and note any changes made during fitting.
What affects the price of room and door signs?
The number of unique sign layouts matters as much as the total quantity. Size, material, finish, bilingual artwork, pictograms, changeable inserts and fixing method also affect the scope. Installation depends on site access, surface, location and timing. A one-off office plaque and a coordinated multi-floor package should therefore not be compared only by price per sign. Send the schedule and ask for a written, itemised quote; we will confirm what is practical for your brief.
Room and door sign questions
What do you need to quote a building-wide package?
A room schedule with approved text and quantities, floor or location list, typical door and wall photos, approximate sizes, brand requirements, site address and target date. Tell us which signs need changeable names or accessibility features.
Can a room name be changed without replacing the whole sign?
A replaceable insert or modular nameplate can be considered when names change frequently. Check this requirement before choosing the construction; not every fixed plaque can be converted later.
Can signs include Arabic and English?
Yes, bilingual artwork can be planned. Supply approved translations and check the proof for spelling, layout and room-by-room consistency before fabrication.
Can signs be fixed to glass or a finished door?
The mounting approach depends on the actual surface, sign weight and any drilling or adhesive restrictions. Share photos and the building requirements so an appropriate fixing method can be discussed before the quote is finalised.
Are ordinary room labels the same as tactile or Braille signs?
No. Where accessibility features are specified, send the applicable drawings or requirements for review. We will not describe a standard printed label as a compliant tactile sign.
Can installation be included?
Installation can be included in the written scope once the quantity, surfaces, site access and locations are known. Check whether removal or making-good is also needed.
How long will production take?
Timing depends on the approved artwork, quantities, materials and installation access. Share your required date early; the schedule should be confirmed after the specification and proof are agreed.
