A lightbox is an illuminated cabinet with a printed or fabricated translucent face. It keeps a fixed brand message visible after dark and can be built for a shop fascia, reception wall, retail display or menu area. The sign face, frame depth, lighting and installation method need to work together. A bright face cannot compensate for copy that is too small to read from the intended distance.
At Al Burooj Advertising in Dubai, start by sharing the location and how people approach the sign. A wall-mounted sign, a projecting sign and a suspended interior lightbox solve different visibility problems. If you need individual illuminated letters rather than a framed panel, compare channel letter signs and 3D illuminated letters.
A fascia or wall lightbox presents one illuminated graphic face. It can carry a business name, logo or simple message within a rectangular cabinet. Share the sign band dimensions, wall material and photos of nearby shopfronts so the scale and mounting can be planned. See our broader storefront signage service for entrance planning.
A projecting lightbox sits perpendicular to the wall and can be read by people approaching from either direction. Bracket design, fixing points, clearance and the proposed sign area matter as much as the artwork. Show both sides in the approval drawing.
A slim backlit fabric frame can present a large graphic in a showroom or retail interior. Menu panels and display graphics may need a planned route for future face changes. Agree the face material and replacement method before fabrication. For non-illuminated or changeable printed displays, review our custom menu boards and snap frames.
A static lightbox and a digital LED display are different products. The lightbox illuminates one physical graphic; a digital display presents electronically changeable images or messages. If promotions, menus or announcements must change frequently, specify the screen location, viewing distance, content format, controls and who will maintain the content. Screen brightness, power, mounting and service access need their own review. Do not assume a digital display is included in a lightbox quotation.
Use artwork that can be read at the intended distance. Strong contrast, clear type and a focused message usually work better than crowded graphics. Colours on a backlit face can appear different from a screen preview or an unlit print, so approve production artwork for the selected material. A replaceable face is useful if the message may change; confirm how it opens and what access will be available after installation.
Cabinet depth and internal lighting affect how evenly the face glows. The choice of rigid face or tensioned fabric, frame finish and viewing angle affects the daytime appearance too. For wider brand graphics and print preparation, our signage design service can help develop artwork for review.
Before production, confirm indoor or outdoor use, finished size, quantity, mounting surface, installation height, cable route and available power. Outdoor exposure and maintenance access should be considered in the specification. A landlord, mall or property team may require drawings and approval for the proposed position; ask who will handle submissions and fees. See our signage plans and permit support and sign installation service.
The quote should distinguish the cabinet or display hardware, graphic face, artwork, delivery, mounting, electrical connection and any access equipment. If an old sign must be removed, or future graphic changes are needed, include those tasks in the discussion. Send your artwork, approximate size, site photos, Dubai or UAE location and target date to receive a project-specific scope.
A lightbox has a fixed translucent graphic face illuminated from inside. A digital LED display shows electronically changeable content. If promotions change often, discuss the display and content-control requirements; if the artwork is stable, a lightbox may be simpler.
Yes. A wall-mounted or fascia lightbox usually has one visible face, while a projecting sign can be designed to be seen from both directions. The location, fixing surface, available space and viewing angle determine which format is practical.
Many lightboxes can be designed with a replaceable face or fabric graphic. Agree how the face opens, who can access it and whether future replacement prints are included. A fixed digital display changes its content electronically instead.
Outdoor use needs a specification suited to the proposed location, including the cabinet, face, mounting, electrical components and maintenance access. Share site photos and exposure details so the construction and approval requirements can be reviewed.
Send your logo, artwork files and intended wording, together with the finished size if known. High-resolution print files or vector artwork are useful. The layout should be checked for viewing distance, contrast and how the graphic appears when illuminated.
Provide photos of the wall, fascia or ceiling, approximate installation height, available power location and whether the sign will be viewed from one or both sides. Confirm the surface construction, cable route, access equipment and responsibility for electrical connection before production.
A digital display needs a separate specification for screen size, viewing distance, content format, control method, power, mounting and service access. If content changes on a schedule, explain who will prepare and update it. Confirm the hardware and content scope in the quotation.
Price depends on dimensions, quantity, single- or double-sided construction, face material, lighting, artwork, mounting and installation access. Ask for an itemised quote that identifies delivery, electrical work, approvals, old-sign removal and future graphic changes where relevant.
Send approximate dimensions, quantity, artwork, site photos, location and required date. State whether the sign is indoor or outdoor and whether you want a static lightbox or changeable digital display. A project schedule can be confirmed once the design and site scope are agreed.
